Pop-Up Show: Imogen Banks

Eugene Contemporary Art is excited to announce our next pop-up exhibition featuring new paintings and drawings by Imogen Banks. A Portland native, Banks received her BFA in Painting from the University of Oregon in 2014 and currently lives in Eugene.

Banks’ works have a quiet tension that belies their seeming simplicity. Tight boundaries and electric edges abound.  Her description of her new paintings and drawings is as restrained as the pieces themselves;

 Minimal paintings as subtle objects. Large scale color fields with attention to detail. Compliments to the traditional rectangle.

This is a one night event, held during the downtown First Friday Artwalk. It will be hosted by Artsdigital (in Broadway Alley between Willamette and Olive). Though it’s not part of the formal artwalk, it is easily accessible from the rest of the tour as it makes its way downtown – less than a block away from the tour’s last stop at The New Zone on Broadway.
